About the XOSS NAV & NAV+ Route Converter
This is an independent browser tool for moving routes between GPX and
the experimental XZRoutes v2 .ro format used by XOSS NAV
and XOSS NAV+ devices.
Why I built it
When I tried to download a Routebook to my XOSS navigation device in the
XOSS app, the transfer repeatedly ended with “Download failed.” I built
this converter as a direct local alternative: export or download a GPX
route, convert it in the browser, then copy the generated
.ro file to the device.
The converter does not repair or replace the XOSS app. It provides a separate workflow for riders who encounter the same problem.
Private, local conversion
Selected route files stay in your browser. There is no upload, account, analytics service, remote font, conversion API, or backend processing. Conversion happens in memory on your device.
Experimental compatibility
The proprietary .ro format has no public specification.
This project implements the reverse-engineered XZRoutes version 2 layout
observed in authentic files. Firmware behaviour can vary, so
compatibility with every XOSS NAV or XOSS NAV+ firmware release is not
guaranteed. Keep the original GPX and test an important route before a
trip.
