How to Import a GPX Route to XOSS NAV or NAV+
Get a GPX route, use the GPX-to-RO converter for XOSS NAV and NAV+, then copy the generated file to your navigation device with a USB-C data cable.
Complete route-import workflow
- Export or download your planned route as a GPX file.
-
Open the XOSS NAV/NAV+ GPX-to-RO converter, choose
the GPX, convert it, and download the resulting
.rofile. - Connect the XOSS NAV or XOSS NAV+ with a USB-C data connection.
-
Copy the
.rofile into the root-level/Routesfolder. - Wait for copying to finish, then safely eject and disconnect.
- Select the new route from Routebook on the XOSS device.
Use a data-capable cable. A charge-only USB-C cable can power the device but cannot expose its storage.
Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Connect the XOSS NAV or NAV+ to the computer with a USB-C data cable.
- Open the device storage in File Explorer on Windows, Files on Linux, or Finder on macOS.
-
Open the folder named
Routesat the root of the device storage. -
Copy the generated
.rofile into/Routes. - Wait for the copy to finish, then safely eject or unmount the device.
- Disconnect the USB-C cable.
Android phone or tablet
- Connect the XOSS NAV or NAV+ to Android with a USB-C data cable or a suitable USB-C adapter.
- If Android displays a USB prompt, allow file transfer or access to the connected storage.
- Open the connected XOSS storage in the Android file manager.
- Open the root-level
Routesfolder. -
Copy the downloaded
.rofile into/Routes. - Wait for the copy to complete, safely disconnect, and select the route from Routebook on the XOSS device.
If the device storage does not appear
- Replace the cable with one explicitly supporting USB data transfer.
- Unlock the Android device and accept its file-access prompt.
- Reconnect the navigation device and try another USB port or adapter.
-
Confirm the destination is exactly
/Routes, including the capital letter.
The RO format is proprietary and firmware behaviour can vary, so keep the original GPX and test an important route before a trip.
